I am almost certain that I am not the only person in the world who bites off more than they can chew…. Well as certain as I can be.
Les Brown quotes that ‘Goals help you channel energy in to action’ and I would wholeheartedly agree. Goals can give you focus and a purpose to work toward. So why are so many people with so much mental anxiety at the very thought of setting a goal.
Procrastination aside (that is a topic for another day – no that was not an attempt at a joke) my belief is that we make it really hard and complicated when goal settling is actually quite simple:
Step 1 – work out one thing that you want
Step 2 – work out what you need to do
Step 3 – do something each day that gets you closer to that goal.
It doesn’t have to feel any more complicated than that so take the pressure off yourself right now!
So just to get started – have a look back at the last year by using my attached ‘year in review’ sheet as your guide. See if you can think of 1 or 3 things that you want to do, be, see, and so on in 2011 and then go from there.
Talk to you soon and feel free to send me what you came up with!
