A funny thing happened to me today…not for the first time I might add. I was caught up in the worry of what other people might think of me which in turn was preventing me from making a fairly straightforward business decision. Where does this fear come from?
I am sure that I am not the only person in the world to be concerned about what other people think of my actions but as my mentor, Paul Blackburn, reminded me today “They are unlikely to be thinking about you, and if they are, there is nothing you can do about it anyway”. A valid observation. Along with the fact that the perceived judgment is actually a reflection of my own self-judgment.
If we can stop self-judgment then we are less likely to judge others and to in fact be impacted by any judgment that does exist.
So yet again, it is all about me….. fancy that!
Talk to you soon
Helen.
