I was watching a TV program in the background as I blogged the other day and my attention was drawn to a Genie (yes one of those that appear when you rub a lamp!) who was granting a couple three wishes. Unlike the traditional genie story, this Genie had rules that the wishes had to comply with.
What would you wish for?
The Genie said that they could wish for anything as long as it:
- didn’t interfere with another persons free will;
- didn’t bring someone back to life;
- wasn’t something that the person was able to achieve on their own.
So I started thinking of a wish that I would ask for within those rules – I really struggled and then eventually decided that what I want (in fact all that I could ever want) is always there in front of me, ready for the taking – sometimes it is just difficult to see it.
The essence of the message was about belief. Most people don’t understand that we have been given this amazing gift. Each of us has the ability to create the life that we want. We simply need to believe that we can.
This message has been handed down through the ages and it now rests with us – the question is “what are we going to do with it?”
